Work Authorized School Psychologist
The shortage of school psychologists has affected schools in every corner of the state. Because of this, KSDE approached KASP to help develop a process to help address the shortage. The result is a respecialization program that allows individuals from related fields, who hold a master's degree and a current license in their field, to complete essential coursework and then work as a school psychologist while finishing their Ed.S. The committee overseeing this process can grant a Work Authorization which is recognized by KSDE. Individuals holding Work Authorization are reimbursable for categorical aid as a professional.
