Western Region Director

Brett Bieberle

bmbieberle@fhsu.edu

My name is Brett Bieberle and I am currently the Director of the School Psychology Graduate Program and Assistant Professor at Fort Hays State University. Prior to my current position, I worked for one year with Russell County School District, two years for Auburn-Washburn School District, and two years with Rice County Special Services Cooperative. I have a strong desire to help children understand their abilities and work to become well-rounded individuals. I strive to provide services in motivation techniques, achievement, and overall mental well-being. At Fort Hays State University, I have an opportunity to help give back to the profession, serve students, and the community. I have been fortunate to grow my skillsets in Kansas by participating in KASP membership and conferences. The conferences and professional development helped me build a supporting network. Also, I’ve gained useful practice advice that I implemented in the myriad of schools I practiced in. To be considered for a leadership opportunity within KASP would be a privilege and an honor. With my experience and skillset, I believe I would make a strong Western Region Director. I have the ability to develop relationships, provide relevant and current research to all stakeholders, and facilitate opportunities for continued professional development. My ultimate goal is to add to the profession of school psychology, by ensuring that students are having their needs met and becoming self-confident and self-reliant in their own abilities. This can be achieved through proper education, adequate tools, and continued professional development opportunities. I hope to add value and new perspectives to the board. In time, contribute to expanding KASP’s goals and mission to grow and recruit the profession. I encourage you to please contact me with any questions and/or concerns you may have.

About Your Regional Director

Welcome Back!

It always amazes me how quickly the school year goes.  We are now on the countdown to spring break, March madness, and all the chaos that arises at the end of the school year.  Before you know it we will be kicking back and enjoying summer break!  As we begin our downhill slide for the school year, I encourage you to take care of YOU!  We have all heard the phrase "You can't pour from an empty cup" and that is so true.  In the hustle and bustle of our school lives, take a moment to breathe, laugh, meditate, and even cry if you need to.  It is ok to put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign to take five minutes for self-care.

Be on the lookout for information regarding our Region Meeting.

Thank you all for all that you do.  You guys are amazing!!

I am currently a school psychologist for South Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative and in my 6th year as a school psychologist.  I hold my NCSP and serve on my cooperative's multi-disciplinary team and autism team.  I have a very diverse background that includes 10 years of banking and an MBA.

This is my first year serving as your Western Region Director and I am excited for the opportunity to be involved with the KASP board representing our region.  As this is my first year, I encourage you to please contact me with any questions and/or concerns you may have.  I look forward to working with all of you to advocate for and grow our profession.
