  • General Registration for the School Mental Health Awareness Day. You do not have to be a KASP member to participate, all school psychologists, social workers, and school counselors are encouraged.

School Mental Health Awareness Day is a partnership of KASP, KSCA and KSSWA intended to communicate the importance of support for school based mental health.

Agenda

8:30- Breakfast provided

9:00-9:45- John Calvert, Director of Safe and Secure Schools Unit, KSDE

9:45-10:15- State Senator Kirsten O'Shea

10:15-10:45- Kent Reed, School Counseling Program Consultant, KSDE

10:45-11:15- Dr. John McKinney, School Mental Health Advisory Committee

11:15- Closing Remarks

11:45- Lunch at The Pennant (requires pre-registration)

The afternoon session is designed to allow participants to attend hearings and meet with local legislators to share information about school-based mental health. Please schedule your meetings with legislators PRIOR to the event. 

Registration cost: $15. You must be registered to join us for lunch.

Burger Bar:

Build your own Pennant Original with your choice of Black Angus beef or grilled chicken. Served with hickory smoked cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. Served with The Pennant’s timeless fries.
